Man shot in armed robbery on North Coast Road

GREENWOOD Park police and Marshall Security are still looking for three suspects involved in an armed robbery at a sports bar on Chris Hani Road (North Coast) on Wednesday night.

The armed robbery also saw one of the customers at the bar being shot in the chest and left arm.

Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen said the incident unfolded just after 9.45pm.

“Three men entered the premises posing as customers before holding up the manager at gunpoint.
A scuffle broke between suspects and a member of the public resulting in the armed suspect firing shots, striking the victim in the chest and left arm.

“The suspects then fled to their getaway vehicle, making off with approximately R10 000 in cash.
Crisis Medical and Netcare 911 paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the man. He was placed on a mechanical ventilator to assist him in breathing before being transported to hospital,” he said.
