THERE has been yet another rock throwing incident. This time a woman escaped injury when a rock was hurled at her vehicle while travelling between Blue Lagoon and Suncoast Casino.

Fortunately, only the woman’s windscreen was damaged.

Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane confirmed the incident saying a case of malicious damage to property had been opened at the Durban Central police station.

He said police are yet to make an arrest.

This follows two cases of rock throwing incidents along the M4, where an uMhlanga and Glen Anil residents escaped injury, in February and March respectively

There were also two incidents along the N2 on 4 and 6 January. During the latter a 26-year-old man sustained minor injuries.

In December last year 16-year-old Amina Haffejee and her brother, Abdur Raheem, who was seven years old, were killed when a rock was thrown from a bridge ontp their car along the N2.

Last month, the Durban Regional Court sentenced Nkosinathi Mthalane (27) to 10 years in prison, after he threw a rock onto a vehicle travelling along the N3, near the Tollgate Bridge.
