These tweets perfectly sum up the #Mandela100 celebrations

South Africa continues to be in a state of limbo 28 years after Nelson Mandela was released from prison. The ANC has been planning events and campaigns to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s legacy conveniently in the same year as election campaigns are due to begin. Some of the upcoming events have been canceled amidst the current negotiations happening between current SA president Jacob Zuma and ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa. The launch of the Mandela100 celebrations took place in Cape Town over the weekend where Ramaphosa gave a speech at the same time and same spot as Mandela had done in 1990.

Ramaphosa and Zuma have been locked in meetings in the past week negotiating the transition of both leaders as pressure mounts for Zuma to resign. The biggest irony in the situation is that both leaders were present when Mandela was in talks with the previous government for a smooth transition to avoid political violence in 1990.

People tweeted their responses and here are the tweets that perfectly sum up the #Mandela100 celebrations.
