Couple robbed after vehicle breaks down

GREENWOOD Park SAPS are investigating the armed robbery of a couple on the M25 near the KwaMashu off-ramp recently.

According to Sergeant Vincent Mthembu, spokesman for the station, the couple had just passed the service station on the M25 when their vehicle broke down.

“They pulled off to the side of the road and were then confronted by three men, one of whom was armed. The suspect pointed a firearm at the victim’s wife and demanded her rings. They then took the man’s watch and both their cell phones. The suspects fled the scene on foot,” he said.
