“While the cash-in-transit guards were doing a collection from a well-known supermarket, they were approached by two men armed with guns. They demanded the cash and attempted to grab one of the cases, a small tussle ensued resulting in the cash-in-transit guard being shot in the right ankle. The men fled in their getaway vehicle, but abandoned the vehicles a few kilometres away from the scene of the crime. The suspects then fled on foot. They remain at large,” he said.

The guard, who sustained minor injuries, was treated by Crisis Medical. He has been transported to a local hospital.
