Northlands Girls’ High School
Northlands Girls’ High School (NGHS) has been educating young women for a successful and fulfilled life for over 65 years.
Since the school opened its doors in 1949, we have been living out our core values of Integrity, Commitment and Compassion. We are active in environmental programmes and the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa awarded us with Green Flag status in 2015. Our pupils are embraced in a caring environment where not only high academic standards prevail, but they are also guided towards value-based decision making and accountability. We offer a comprehensive range of subjects, which includes IEB Advanced Programme Mathematics, French and Music. Access to the 20+ sporting disciplines and arts and culture societies ensure pupils are supported in all their aspirations. Our state of the art amenities include fully equipped Art studios and Consumer Studies kitchens, Media and Music centres, a well-equipped gymnasium, synthetic turf facilities and an eight lane swimming pool.
NGHS is an Allan Gray Orbis ‘Circle of Excellence’ School and has been rated a ‘Top 25 SA Public School’ (Fairlady Magazine Public Schools’ Survey 2015). The school once again achieved a 100% pass rate in the 2016 matric exams and one of our top achievers, Sanam Daya, was named the Umlazi District Top Achieving Candidate in Information Technology.
