THE radio personality who made the ‘insensitive and offensive’comments on his Facebook page following the deaths of two cyclists on the M4 Ruth First Highway on Sunday has been fired. What’s more Kevin Minter-Brown’s sponsorship relationship with VW Umhlanga was also terminated.

In a statement issued this afternoon, East Coast Radio’s spokesperson, Anisa Ussuph said: “In light of the insensitive and offensive comments made by contractor, Kevin Minter-Brown, on his personal Facebook page following the tragic deaths of two cyclists on the M4 Ruth First Highway on 7 February 2016, East Coast Radio has taken the decision to terminate Minter-Brown’s contract with immediate effect.

“This is a difficult time for the family and friends of cyclists, Jared Dwyer and Richard da Silva, and East Coast Radio would like to humbly apologise for Minter-Brown’s callous remarks,” she said.

Some Twitter users also voiced their unhappiness over Minter-Brown’s comments.
