NETCARE Umhlanga Hospital and Stork’s Nest Clinic hosted a breastfeeding expo on Saturday in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week, which runs from 1 to 7 August.

The morning was an educational experience for expectant mothers and fathers. Various healthcare professionals spoke about the advantages of breastfeeding for mother and baby, healthy diets for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and the importance of immunisations for your baby. Various breastfeeding techniques were demonstrated.

After an informative morning, guests were treated to some lucky draw prizes, snacks and drinks and finished off with a tour of the maternity ward. Each mother went home with a goodie bag filled with useful baby products.
